Intro to me+ funny/kinda sad story!

PYR can make excellent LGD but, they are not all born to the job. Some need careful training before allowing them with livestock, etc. Others like to roam and if not fenced will end up protecting someone else's flock. Also they work better in pairs if you expect them to fend/fight off larger more dangerous predators like cougars.

Juno is only 7 months old and already does rounds of the perimeter of the house periodically both day and night, barking when she thinks something is up. She came from a line of working LGDs on both sides of her family as well. Also, she has formed a close bond with my labrador who is also a good watchdog and hunter when she is not sleeping, and they both prowl together sometimes. Juno also only leaves the property if Layla(the lab) does too, and the both have underground fence collars wich we find work really well for the both of them. Even when the do wander off, the just parade on over to a specific neigbors' house and she brings them right back with no complaints and just uses it as a chance to get to know us better. All in all, I have alot of confidence in her as a guard dog.😊

Welcome to BYC! What a great introduction! You write and express yourself so well for 13...good for you!! Thanks for joining our flock!

Thank you! I have been complimented many times on my writing by my teachers, my parents, and others who read my work. I think i may get it from my dad, who has had his writing used in examples in his high school and college classes by his professors! It may also stem from the fact that I read, or used to read, a lot. In fact, I have tested multiple times as a college level reader! It is a skill I am proud of!

Lol, just get them reading 24/7, it did the trick for me! 3d grade: 2 magic treehouse books per day, 5th grade: 1 harry potter book per week, 6th grade: a percy jackson book in 3 days, 8th grade: call of the wild for the second time in 45 minutes! Works like a charm, I tell you!

Yeah it does
Until you hit middle school and your brain is permanently broken from call of the wild so you can’t read no more
Seriously why does no one talk about how sad Call of the Wild is
