It's great to have a dog that doesn't want strange critters in the yard. Mine is like that too, and she has a dog door, so she go bounding out there in the middle of the night to chase something away.

We're so happy to have you- it's great to see a newer chicken keeper that is concerned about their flock and willing to learn more, so good on you! It sounds like you have a nice little group of chickens, I'm surprised no one else has asked for photos yet! We'd love to see some photos from life with them. You mentioned a love of coffee- have you ever enjoyed just sipping a cup watching the chickens roam about? We're so glad to get to know you!

Welcome! I understand that feeling of calm around the birds. Warning though... chickens are so addictive that life seems meaningless without being softly pecked for treats from my hand.
