(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Began my chicken journey beginning of 2022, had them when I was a kid growing up though. Not that that counts for anything lol
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have in total 19 chickens, 15 in one coop/run and 4 in another.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Buff Orpingtons, Light Brahmas, Americanas, Easter Eggers, and Salmon Faverolles.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
They are so friendly (at least mine are), and taking care of them is fun too. Minus all their ridiculous amounts of pooping. Oh and who needs a lawn mower when you have chickens??
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Well I have a 9 year old son so he's a hobby in and of itself. I also am a small business owner who makes indoor/outdoor décor. Try to stay busy
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a son, as I mentioned (single mama), 2 dogs, I work in the dental field, and I want to eventually have a nice homestead. Slowly, but surely working my way there.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC through the Oak Abode YouTube channel, and I have been on this site feverishly for almost a year now. I wanted to join because now I am starting to have questions of my own!
