I am from Worth Couty, Ga. I just bought a coop and run from Tractor Supply. A friend is giving me a hen and rooster, so I can incubate to get more chickens. I am interested in having quality eggs to eat.
Best wishes to your new growing flock! Would she happen to have two hens for the rooster? I would just hate for that hen to be stressed out by being the rooster's only mate. Hopefully they will be okay together.
If you can be looking for an old shed or something similar to turn into a coop, it sounds like you will grow out of the Tractor Supply one quickly. The TSC coop will be great to use for an intermediate brooder for the chicks when they are old enough.
Congrats on your chicken plans! Thanks for joining and welcome to BYC!
Welcome. I agree with @Jener8or. A hen or two or even better, three, would make for a happier flock. My advice is to make sure they have a lot of secure space in the coop and run.
