Question about introducing flocks.. Once they are old enough, we are able to introduce them no problems.. We have done it a couple times, no problems there. I am more curious about chicks.. Here is the scenario. I ordered my new round of chicks last month, due in May 6. However, someone ordered a bunch with an earlier ship date and offered us 6 of them, and we gladly accepted. Those chicks will be 3 weeks old when we get the ones due May 6. Can I put them both in the same brooder box? They are all the same breeds, so no concern with food, as we would feed them both the same if they were in different brooder boxes. The box I would use is big enough for all birds, so no concern there. My concern is 1)heat lamp. They are on different schedules. I would probably use 2 lamps, one on each side of the box so they can keep different temps. The box is big enough to handle that as well. My real concern is bullying or whatever. I assume the 3 week olds aren't to the point where they would peck the others, but figured I would ask before I do anything. I would prefer not to build a new brooder box for just this batch, but if I have to, I have to.. Thanks in advance..
