I have 4 5 week old chicks and 3 2 week old chicks and I want them to be in the same brooder so I don’t have to clean two different boxes. How would I go about doing that?

The big ones are in our garage in a large kennel, and the smaller ones are inside and it’s making the room smell even though it’s been 1 day since I cleaned the box. And are the little ones going to be ok at night with a heat plate? If you have any questions let me know?

I did this. I put two moving boxes together, made a 6x5 box. I had heat lamps at each end for different temperatures and put 3 roosts in. It worked out pretty good.

Two to three week old chicks can be okay as long as there's a few of them, they are getting close to fully feathered, and have a shelter to cuddle up in. I can't do that so soon with silkies at that temp unless I put a Cozy Coop radiant heater in their hutch.

Try putting about an inch of horse bedding pellets down next time you change it. You won't have any smell.
