Introducing ducklings and chicks

What’s the best way to introduce chicks and ducks to a flock that is about a month or two older? They seem to keep pecking at them

I like to set up a small pen next door to the older birds so they can see/smell/interact without touching. After they get acquainted through the fence, I put the smaller pen INSIDE the larger pen so they can get even closer. I like to do each “stage” for maybe 2-3 days and then set the newbies loose with the older crew. If I see any bullies I separate them in a smaller cage (inside the run) for a day or two and then reintroduce the bully. It’s worked so far for my quail and my ducks, so I’d imagine it would work for chickens too
