Introducing geese

He's very nervous and hisses when scared but when I put them to bed he likes snuggles and nibbles my coat. Dandelion was sick of him today and went over and stood by my feet so he wouldn't come over as he's nervous of me.
That’s lovely x yes he will be nervous at first but they like it when you sit down and let them approach you - and aww dandelion 🤣

I'm nearly 100% sure Flo is a gander. Clover and Dandelion used to do this but he acts like a gander aswell. At least theyre getting along. Right!

I've never had a one to one ratio before. I have where my gander have a couple of females to spread it out. Even than some of my females end up with bare spots on their necks. I currently have 3 gander to 11 females.

If he gets to be too much on her you may need to occasionally separate, especially if you don't plan on letting her set, which would give he a break from his attention.

Oh dear! How long will breeding season last. I thought they just paired up naturally and it was natural to just have 1 to 1 ratio. I'll separate him for a bit if he starts to get too much for her . Most of the time they are free range but when I'm gone they stay in their pen. Their pool is there. Will they only mate in the pool? Because most of the time they aren't in it.

I've seen them mate on the water and on land. Breeding season here goes from now until the end of June generally, and than they will molt. In the wild population they probably stop mating when they start setting. If you pull eggs and don't let them hatch they keep on trying in my experiences.
