Introducing Jake, Kira & Cassidy-My Delaware Youngsters @ 9 Wks.

I may Cyn, I lost my sweet Delaware this past week and I allready miss seeing her running thru the yard. Yours are TOP quality as far as I am concerned. My Egglentine was pretty but she did not come close to yours as far as the beautiful markings go.

Something was wrong for a couple of days. I was keeeping an eye on her as she was showing no signs of sickness, she just slowed down. She went under the bushes and died. She looked like she was asleep. I should have done something more. I knew something was wrong but I kew if I went to the vet and said "I think something is wrong but she has no symptoms" they would have taken me for a very costly ride.

Could have been an internal layer like mine were. Lacy died of that suddenly, just like you described, whereas Lorelei and Ruby wasted away for awhile. Nothing to do about that other than expensive surgery and then she could have died on the table anyway.

*** Forgot to say how sorry I am. She was really pretty and I know how much you liked her.

I thought of that as well when it happened. I also swore off hatcheries forever. Only quality birds from reputable breeders from here on out. I know they can get sick and die as well but in my experience I have had far fewer problems with my birds I have hatched.

Edited for dang typos.
