Hello. I have been lurking as a nonmember for about a month now and really appreciate the collective wisdom of this group.
I am located in rural Manitoba and my husband and I are just starting our hobby farm on 20 acres. By day, I'm a high school teacher and the rest of the time I am raising 90 chicks. I started with 100 (50 layers and 50 cornish X). In the 2 1/2 weeks I've been doing this I only lost 2 layers but 8 cornish X (one this morning). Anyone else have a higher mortality rate with cornish X?
Anyways, hello everyone. I have loads of questions and can't wait to get to know the regulars here.

Twenty acres would be awesome to have!

Welcome! I'm new too. 20 acers? how wonderful!!!

From all the lurking I've done previous to signing up I think your health issues in your cornish is common. I'm no expert, but I distinctly remember them having weak hearts and overgrowth issues.

But u are in the right place to find out!

Hi! Glad you're here. Lucky you to have 20 acres. Sounds like a nice little farm!
