I am about to acquire 6 muscovy hatchlings & hoping my chicken will accept them. She has been sitting on several eggs in a separate pen, for 4 wks with no signs of them hatching. Every few days I find an egg broken outside the nest - rejects, I guess. The other chickens are showing increased interest in what's happening (or not) inside the hatching pen. Is there anything I can do to increase the likelihood she will accept the muscovies? I will candle the eggs tonight & toss the nonviable ones; should I remove all? TIA
