I got my chicks on Friday as planned. Have had a fun few days getting them settled in. My Husband built a box from what scraps he had, only had to buy a few things, he's going to finish the top later but they are fine for now. They are all doing great it seems. All 14 of them! I did not have any luck finding a big bag of organic starter, so they are getting unmedicated along with live mealworms. I also started fermented mash the day they came. I take some out of the jar and add some back each time I want to feed it. They go absolutely bonkers for it and eat every last drop. They are all very active, bright eyed, looking great.

I've got quite the mixture, with 3 Cochin's (black, partridge, gold lace), 3 Polish(black, blue, silver lace), 1 Sultan, 2 Anconas, 2 Sicilian buttercups, 2 black copper marans, and 1 Ameraucana. They are really cute, these are just cell phone pics, when I have the time to fiddle with my nice camera I'll get some good ones.
