Welcome, Richard!
Your little ladies are beautiful. I have to admit I avoided getting bantams -- too small to hold their own, I thought; eggs would be too small for a decent over-easy breakfast.
Then, I ended up with a cast off pair of cochin bantam hens (a barred and a red frizzle). I LOVE the tiny girls! In fact, when Sally, the barred, started limping badly, I took her to the vet where she became the most expensive chicken I have (or hopefully, will) ever own. Her bill topped $100 -- and she's well worth it.
And, as I learned yesterday, she also has no problem holding off bigger, new birds. I am trying to acclimate my Sapphire Gem pullets to outdoor living. I put a crate inside the run where the bantams live with a Wyandotte. The big bird ignored the new girls; Sally repeatedly charged their crate. You have to love little girls with spunk.
