Hello to all my fellow chicken people. My name is Sam, but my friends call me Witwiki. (Sam Witwiki...Transformers...if you don't get it then watch the movie) It has been a dream of mine to raise my own feathery flock since I was a young lad. I first came into contact with these amazing creatures when I was 12 yrs old. That's right laugh it up you ole backyard farmers I was 12 before I saw an actual chicken that wasn't in a KFC box. We lived in a townhouse community and this kind of Tom foolery wasn't allowed. It was on one of my first trips to the "country" that I came into contact with real chickens and I absolutely fell in love with them and had to have my own one day. It only took me 21 years to get to that point! My wife and I purchased our first home and a piece of property in the "country" and it came with an existing termite damaged, algae covered, dusty old chicken coop! I fixed her up (enough to get started) and rushed out to get baby chicks. That was over a year ago. We currently have 9 hens and a crazy man killing Rooster whom I have named "The Boss" and a 10 week old hen named Winter (because she was born in winter). They are Rhode Island Reds and I love them like they are family. Looking forward to meeting some new crazy chicken people like myself and learning new things!
