Hi Everyone ! I'm Pam and my husband is Len.
We are retired and want to start raising a few hens for eggs. As of yet, we have no coop, no hens or anything else associated with them.
We live just south of Seattle with our daughter ( 36 ) and her 2 yr old daughter, and our 6 mo old Standard Poodle puppy, Rocky.
We are avid gardeners, and I can or freeze all of our extra produce.
So, basically, I am here to learn.
About 20 yrs ago, I lived on a 3 acre mini-farm, and had delightful chickens and eggs. It seemed to complete the circle of gardening, composting, etc.
Thanks for having me !

A very big, very warm welcome to BYC!!! :celebrate
We have all kinds of threads for learning about poultry, as well as other fowl. We also have sister sites I think you will be interested in! You can find similar threads here on Backyard Chickens. We also have cooking and baking threads!

Hi, Pam! I've been on this site for almost a year and got my first ladies in the mail in May this year. Despite all the horror stories, all of them made it to the coop and free-ranging age! (I lost 2 of the 16 to hawks early on; now they don't get out until late in the day.) Dolley Madison, Mamie Eisenhower, Lucy Hayes, and Betty Ford are all laying; waiting on the other First Ladies!
