Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. You've received some good links and advice from the other members. Just post any questions you may have and we'll do our best to answer them. We are here to help in any way we can. You have a nice mixed flock. Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed; very hardy, calm and gentle, and the best layers of the brown egg laying breeds. I hope you had a successful hatch. I would love to see photos -. If an egg has a small crack many people have gotten them through to hatching - they use melted candle wax over the crack. Of course these were incubated eggs. Maybe a hen's weight would break them open.

Just thinking about what you wrote about winter. Are you Aussie? We have a large Aussie community on BYC. There is a thread: "Australia, six states and one funny little island."
We start fall later next month, so you should be welcoming spring then. Hope you will be enjoying some pleasant weather.
