We got 6 3 day old chicks about two weeks ago and lost two :( It's looking like one of our barred rocks is a roo, so that will leave us with only 3 hens... We would like to get a few more chicks, is it ok to introduce them to the others at this point?

IF you are getting day olds to add to your flock.....there is quite a size differentce. I would keep them apart until they gain a bit of size, IF you have a way to keep the brooders next to each other....and possibly make it so they can see each other, I think it would be easier when you blend them together.

I have ten three week old chicks and just bought three more three day olds. I put them in together and the older ones were curious but not overly aggressive. I did have to go to work that night so I put a window screen between the two so they can see each other. Kind of hard to see in the pic because of the red light but hopefully you can get the idea.[IMG]
