Hi,
We have 3 3/4 Leghorns about 18 months old, we recently got 3 new girls (a Rhode Island Red, a bantam Ancona and a Silkie), we kept the in a separate run for 4 weeks and have now been free ranging for 2 weeks, they are now about 14 weeks old. They all sleep in the same coop now but the big girls go upstairs where the nesting boxes are and the little girls are sleeping downstairs, should we scoop the little ones up and pop them upstairs or let them make their own way up? Thanks

If it's not a problem for you, then I'd let them decide when they feel comfortable to mix it with the big girls.

The big girls will probably make that decision for you! Our youngsters thought they could roost on the hens' roost. The hens said NO WAY..... the hens teach the pullets the rules, and so far, ours are all getting along very well. Good luck with yours!

Thanks for that, I'm terrified they'll kill the wee girls if we force the issue!
