So a few weeks ago, I got two new hens. They have been in isolation, with the last week being in a dog kennel highly visible to where my existing flock free ranges. Yesterday, we went to let the new hens out, figuring if they were not going to get along with anyone--it woud be the current hens.
Well, the rooster just went after them, and ripped feathers out of the one hen. He was NOT trying to mate--he was trying to tear a piece off her! So of course, the two new hens are back in the kennel, but any tips on how I can successfully let them out with the existing flock so that they can all live together peacefuly?
Thank you!
