It is an electrolyte mix that you mix with water and helps birds in stress recover.

They were advertised on a bird rescue’s facebook page. They gave me the contact information and I reached out to the guy who pulled them from the egg farm. He has roughly 500 left to rehome.

update on the hens? I just got a retired hen and she is curious about everything. Almost like a chick pecks at us but her beak has been clipped. Do they grow back?

Congrats on your rescue hen! Yes beaks are made of keratin, just as your fingernails keep growing, so do beaks. It will eventually grow out in a few months. Enjoy her!

Beaks can regrow, but if hers was clipped/cauterized as a chick, it will not.

Gave mama Maude a bath today and she’s been super friendly. I haven’t had her for long. Im unsure of her age, she also hasn’t laid since I received her. Should I assume she is done laying? Or should I be worried? I just don’t want to miss anything, I know they can become egg bound if they are stressed.
