Introducing new "retired" laying hens from a mass-production egg farm

update on the hens? I just got a retired hen and she is curious about everything. Almost like a chick pecks at us but her beak has been clipped. Do they grow back?
Congrats on your rescue hen! Yes beaks are made of keratin, just as your fingernails keep growing, so do beaks. It will eventually grow out in a few months. Enjoy her! :)

Gave mama Maude a bath today and she’s been super friendly. I haven’t had her for long. Im unsure of her age, she also hasn’t laid since I received her. Should I assume she is done laying? Or should I be worried? I just don’t want to miss anything, I know they can become egg bound if they are stressed.
