Introducing old chicken to new flock

So I had two sapphire hen that I let free range, one got sick and died now I only have the one thats free ranging, I have 8 6 week old chicks that I'm getting ready to move into our new coop and run will I be okay to put my lone sapphire with them... I feel bad having her free range the last year then locking her up with a bunch of new chickens after her friend passed

Ideally you'd slowly integrate them but maybe sticking her in a new set up along with the chicks will be enough of a change that she won't be inclined to chase after the chicks. Definitely make sure to supervise the initial introductions.

We've got her free ranging around the new chicks in the run and she's not happy she keep running into the fences trying to get at em she'll get occupied by her treats for a second but then right back to the chicks
