Hi! My name is Nadia, I'm from South Africa and I'm a big fan of this forum!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Not quite, had them on and off growing up, now I'm a little obsessed with the lot I got from my neighbour. So I'm counting myself new, as this is now an intensive business for me!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
6, with 7 new chicks just being hatched. So 11 if all goes well! (And a zillion more incoming)
(3) What breeds do you have?
They are a mystery box. Bantams of some sort or another.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love to watch them! They are so much fun and I love to hear them crow early morning. Also fresh eggs!
(5. What are some of your other hobbies? I'm a farmer, so all my hobbies are farm related.
The chickens are pretty much it right now!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Live on the family farm with my family and husband. Got cattle, sheep, goats, horses, dogs, cats and more!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
From Googling to find answers to my questions! It's been a while, and finally decided to get in on the conversation!
