Hello y'all,
We are set to close on our new home in a few weeks. The community we are moving to is a mountain community in central California, Tehachapi area. It is a gated community with a lot of rules concerning outbuildings and animals. The house is on an acre and so we are allowed 5 birds. (Chickens, ducks, guinea, quail, turkey...if it has feathers, I can have a total of 5 birds at a time and for the most part, no roosters due to noise. The previous owners have an awesome coop with some lovely ladies living in it and they are leaving it for me. I have no idea what breeds they all are, but they are beautiful. I am hoping that the previous owner will either teach me how to take care of them or write out a sort of manual and leave it for me. Other wise, I am going to be depending on this group for help with my questions. I grew up with chickens, but have forgotten so much of it.
Looking forward to getting to know the group.
