(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am new to chicken. I did have a chicken when I was maybe 6 but do not really remember how I kept it alive.
As soon as the quarantine on chicks was lifted in LA County I got myself my flock.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 5 chicken and 1 rooster.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Cream Legbars
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
This started as a response to the beginning days of COVID and empty shelves at the grocery store. It also was to keep my 6 year old daughter busy.
It was been great watching the chicks go from baby chicks to so far the teenage years.
I also enjoy spending time with them in the backyard, watching them forage.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Recently began building my shop for woodwork. I also enjoy gardening and composting.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am an architectural drafter by trade, I work in the glass and glazing industry.
I have a 6 year old daughter.
Happily married, and have 2 Saint Bernards - Stella and Bonnie.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Found BYC when I was looking for coop ideas.
Loved the information, decided to join and read as much as I could.
