Thanks, for the advice, but our guineas and chickens are going to be free range. We have gotten some of those squishy toys from Walmart and whenever my dog goes near the chicken pen, we throw those at her. She's terrified of them. She doesn't go near the chickens when we're there, but as soon as we leave, she's right back over there.Hello and welcome to BYC!Glad you joined.
The "tying the dead bird to the killer dog's neck" worked for our lab that went on a killing spree with our muskovies when I was a kid, but I certainly wouldn't do that. I would take measures to prevent the kill happening in the the first place. I keep my flock safe from my dogs by keeping them contained within an electrified poultry netted pen. Two of my dogs ran at the chickens and hit the fence. Neither of them even so much as looks at the chickens any longer.

Yep! We have a smaller cage where the chickens will lay their eggs/sleep, and we have a larger pen that's 14 ft by 12 ft for them to hang out at night. The smaller pen is supposed to fit at least 8 chickens. We have a lot of roosting places for the guineas. There's an L shaped covered part of the pen that will keep the guineas warm. We are going to let them roost higher up when we have them.Hello! Welcome to BYC!!
