Introduction from Idaho

Hi everyone! I'm Emma and I wanted to join BYC to just learn more about how I can help my flock thrive and troubleshoot any issues I may run into. I first got chickens about three years ago, started off with six hens and now I'm adding another six, they're about 14 weeks now. So I have a total of 12 currently. I have a variety of breeds like buff orpingtons, australorps, wyandottes, amerucanas, a black copper maran, and a mottled java. My favorite part about having chickens is how cute and entertaining they are to be around, the fresh eggs are also superior to any other eggs. My other hobbies are hiking, gardening, camping, and fishing. I live in idaho with my parent's and fiance. We're hopefully going to buy a property of our own here soon. The only other pet I have is a pug, he loves hanging out with the chickens but they don't like him as much. I'm an RN in the neonatal intensive care unit here at a local hospital and I love my job. I found BYC when I first got my flock when I was googling all the things I needed to know about raising chickens, and this site has been so helpful. I thought becoming a member would help me share my personal questions and connect with other chicken mamas!
