Hi. Hello, Hallo, Hola, Salut, and so on...
Well, um...
Ah! I have just joined. Though I am not technically new to BackyardChickens because I have been using it for years to find out stuff about chicken that you simply can't find anywhere else. So Thank You for that and I have now joined to contribute and because I've only just made my first email. Yey! Not that I will use it for anything else. Anyway...
Theres's not much to say, We've always had chickens, many different kinds (silkys, gold-laced orpingtons, marans, coucous....and some others I can't remember) we currently have a mix, and have our own breed : Doyle. It's a secret recipe. They are fantastic layers, the best hatchers and are so fierce the dogs run from them and yet are so sweet that if they know you they will come running up and can be caught in an instant. At the moment the eggs are about medium size but are growing with each generation(they started out about bantam size(tiny!)). So they're pretty cool.
Personally, I love books, animals, chocolate, cooking, puzzles, crafts and gardening. Among other endless activities.
As a family we have a business of, mainly wool(and things made out of) and wood. Also recycled and second-hand stuff.
