Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm not sure where you are at and how available commercial feeds are in your area, but I would strongly suggest adding them to your chicken's diet if they are available. Tomatoes and wheat are fine for the occasional treat, but treats should make up less than 10% of a chicken's diet or its health will suffer in the long run (as well as its lay rate if it's a hen). Commercial feeds are specially formulated to meet all of a chicken's nutritional needs, and while homemade feed may initially save money, in the long run it will end up costing you money when your chicken's health suffers as a result. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your chicken.

You have already been given advice on feeding your chicken a complete diet. If commercial feed is not available in your area, you can search for others near you under "where am I, where are you" forums to question how others manage their flocks. Good luck with your new chicken.
