Hi, I am a new Chicken Owner I have had my flock of 11 Hens and one Rooster for almost a year. All of my girls are named after Woman of Country Music ( New Hampshire Reds/ Reba and Patty, Buffs/ Dolly and Faith, Aricanas/ Miranda and Trisha ( Miranda looks like Trisha only prettier ) Black Australop/ June ( cause she’s black and June was married to the man in Black),Silver laced Windot/ Loretta, Golden Laced Windot/ Patsy ( cause come on people Patsy Cline is Golden) Columian Windot/ Tanya, And I can’t forget about my Rooster Single Comb Leghorn/ George. My mother raised chickens when I was younger and I swore I would never have a single one when I was older but here I am 37yrs old and I am in love with my flock!! My neighbors, friends and family like to call me the Crazy Chicken Lady because I spend hours playing music for my girls and taking Snap Chat picture and Videos with them!

Lucky you, if your birds are a year or so old and you only have one rooster. Good job!
Hope you will enjoy Backyard chickens as much as we do :yesss:

I got them from a hatchery they were already sexed so I knew exactly what I was getting. McMurry Hatchery is who we ( my mom and I ) used she has always got her chicks from them and we have always had healthy birds and have always got exactly what we asked for.

I hope my new babies will be all Pullets but if I happen to get a rooster or two out of the 6 eggs I already have them new homes.
