Hello. My name is Maureen. My wife and I have raised 13 chickens to age 28 weeks. They are all different breeds and all so pretty. Our rooster is a bantam and we adore him. While the chicks were still in the house my wife taught him to crow and now he does it constantly! We'll be building a nice coop this fall and a bigger run. We have a prefab coop that hasn't even lasted a season. That was disappointing. Anyway, we're both retired so have time to enjoy the chicks. And we always have lots of questions.

I have never heard of teaching a rooster to crow! They usually learn on their own to the chagrin of many in the City where they are not allowed.

Do you have a video of your DW teaching him to crow? I bet it would be very entertaining to see

Welcome! You will fit right in here
