Introduction

:welcome

The coop was a playhouse my kids used as toy storage. I still need to cut a hole in the side and install nesting boxes. I want to be able to access them from outside. I have the posts and fencing for the run but it’s not up yet. I’m also thinking a live fence for the perimeter cause one of my Belgians likes to play rough and picks up my other critters in her mouth. Doesn’t hurt them but scared them. She’s only 2 so she’s still very energetic.
I love your coop! Mine is a ugly mess of boards...

Nice re-purposing of the playhouse.
I imagine your Belgian picking up a chicken would be a pretty major issue!
I had an Appaloosa mare that hated the sheep that lived in the barn and when they ran by, she'd reach over her Dutch door and grab for them. She got a ewe by the wool of her butt one day, the wool pulled out and the ewe ran off but my mare basically had a mouthful of stinky wool sweater she couldn't manage to spit out. Served her right.

Lol, If she’s anything like my dog it didn’t deter her the next time. She brings me wild bunnies, all claws and screaming like they’re being eaten alive, and she’s grinning like an idiot. They love to eat the clover in our back yard -inside the dog fence- and my kids don’t always remember to clear the yard of rabbits before loosing the hounds. She has caught the SAME rabbit twice when it would fit in your palms and 3 more times now that it’s as long as my forearm. We call it Kamikaze. She drops it on command and the rabbit runs off, but it makes me weak in the knees every time I see her run after one. :barnie

Aloha and welcome to BYC, Loved your little bio and also enjoyed following the tread of welcomes and fun comments from our fellow chicken enablers. Awesome little coop and I love the way you think about the empty lot next door ;) I get that! I'm a big fan of photos if you have any more to share. :D looking forward to seeing you around the site.
