My name is Maggie and currently my family has 4 grown hens, one grown rooster, and two chicks who are about five weeks old. Two of our hens are Rhode Island Reds, Dorothy and Rose. We also have a Grey-laced Wyandotte, Moo, and a Speckled Sussex, Spock. I am not sure what breed our rooster is, but his name is Randy. Our chicks are Brown Leghorns, and their names are Coco and April! Our hens live in a coop with a large fenced-in area (our old garden) for them to roam around in. I am considering putting some shrubs and flowers in to ward off hawks and other predators. We have had trouble getting our hens to lay recently, possibly due to the stress of us getting new hens, suggestions welcome on addressing the problem. Attached is a picture of our hens and Randy!
