Hi everyone! My name is Kaysha and my boyfriend Kevin and I started rasing chicks for the first time starting last spring of 2019. We first started out with 6 chicks. Three of them ended up being roosters. Now we have Ruby a Sapphire Gem and Harold and Kumar who are Black Sex Links.. we are still learning about all of the amazing different breeds out there!
We recently bought our first home and have added five new chicks to our family. We got one Princess Calico, two Silkies, a starlight Green Egger and a Plymouth Rock chick. I fear that a few of them are roosters too!
We absolutely adore our chickens and have loved this fun new journey in rasing them. Kevin works in Organic Pest Control and I am a Elementary School Librarian. We love to garden, dirt bike, go paragliding, kayaking and traveling. We have a rescue dog named Obi, a bunny we rescued last summer named Hopper and two guinea pigs, Penny and Piper.
We are excited to be apart of this community and have this place to come for questions we might come up with!

our other Sapphire Gem they gave us was a Rooster and Ruby was a hen so we kept her. At the time we were in an area where we couldn't keep roosters.
