We got our first chickens two years ago

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have one rooster and five hens

(3) What breeds do you have?

The hens are all ISA Browns

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Getting eggs, listening to the noises they make as the range about our yard.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Making things from wood

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Retired, One wife, four kids, five grand kids and one mental cat.

Found BYC while surfing the net looking for plans for an automatic chicken feeder.

I live in Adelaide with four hens of various breeds, shapes and sizes kept in a suburban backyard. I have a thread called MJ's little flock, please take a peek if you're interested :) @Shadrach makes amazing lamps from wood, you might his work interesting. ISA Browns are lovely hens but I've not had much luck with them (fox raid and uterine infection).

I live in NSW and have learnt such a lot here.

I have 5 chickens (names and breeds in my signature ☺ )
