I got my first chicks 14 years ago. I've kept from 8 to 25. The all have names, so no eating them. Half of them are so old they don't lay any more but that's okay We have a lot of trees so hawks aren't a problem. They free range and beg for fish food when I feed at the koi pond. On occasion will learn to use the pet door and come in the house. Love 'em all. Being retired spend plenty of time hanging out with them. The help ??? planting and digging up plants and enjoy all the worms. Every one should have them.
