(1) I'm fairly new to exotic chickens and other types of fowl, but I have been raising chickens since I was 4 years old.

(2) As of 2024 I have close to 30, but starting spring I'll be fully set up for around 200

(3) The breeds I have right now are: Sebright, Serama, Ayam Cemani, Old English Game, Polish, Silkie (silkie crosses, sizzles, and pure silkies), Cochin, D'Uccle, and two very loud and very friendly Chinese Geese.
I'm buying 5 Indio Gigante chicks soon!

(4) I'd say my favorite aspect of raising backyard chickens is definitely the experience and how random it is. Some of my chickens are terrified of me (I take in rescue roosters so..), and some like my serama hen cant get enough of seeing my face. (I handraised her from when she hatched). I love the process of hand raising my babies and having them follow me everywhere like my pair of geese do... Definitely gives me something to look forward to every day.

(5) Aside from raising poultry, I love gardening, cooking, weightlifting, and playing volleyball.

(6) My family helps me out a lot with the farm, we have two dogs one is a cocker spaniel girl named Koko and the other is our new puppy a miniature aussie shepherd named Finnley. I'm working on switching to full time farming since I'm opening my own hatchery and plant farm (I'd like to sell fruit tree saplings and herb starters mostly for the plant part)

(7) Happy to be here, I hope to learn about chickens slowly but surely and help those who need help with their flock, as mine has given me every type of trouble they could possibly give me over the years.

Bonus: I'll send pictures of my favorites 🐔

Welcome to BYC - great intro!
Settle in and enjoy the community here - we will look forward to hearing how your plans progress.
It would be a good idea to add to your profile roughly where you are ((I don’t mean you address just country and if US which state). Who knows, you may find neighbors here who are interested in your plants and chicks.
