(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, I am one month into keeping chickens. I've been wanting to get them for years, but we've been renters. Last year we bought our first house, so this year I've been so excited to finally get them.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 9
(3) What breeds do you have? Black australorp, leghorn, easter egger, naked neck, americauna, and sapphire gem
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? So far I have just enjoyed watching them grow, holding them, and seeing how fast they change. They're fun to just sit and watch.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Sourdough baking and reading
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I am married and have 1 child - she has also enjoyed the chicken adventure. I am a part time bank teller. My heart is in my home and eventually having more children, but I do enjoy the bank.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I've been reading threads for the last few months. I finally joined so I can participate, ask questions, etc.
