My wife and I raised chickens when our kids were small - over 25 years ago. We wanted them to experience what it was like to take care of animals. Then we went a few years without chickens but about 3 years ago we bought 16 hens of various breeds just so we could have the fresh eggs. We love having chickens as much as ever. Lots of fun, good eggs, and really quite easy!

Good evening all,
My name is Amanda. My husband and I are trying to get our hens. I have been researching and reading about chickens for the last year and in an effort to make sure we can raise healthy chickens and have good healthy eggs. Right now we live in Ludowici, GA which is in the county and found a very surprising fact; we are under a covenant and can not have chickens. We are fighting the covenant now and trying desperately to get them to approve it so we can have our chickens. If anyone else lives in the area I would love to talk to you about coops, heating and cooling, etc. I want desperately, if we can, to do what is right for my chickens.
