Welcome to BYC and glad to meet you. Hope you find someone with the birds you want.

Hi! Brand new chicken adventurer in Kentucky - well, no chickens yet but working on their habitat and can't wait until early spring here to get the chicks. I've been reading and studying lots of your posts and learned so much as well as had a few chuckles. I'm on about an acre set 300 ft from the road and have inherited an old coop in the back filled with wire, junk and broken glass that I've been cleaning out in my spare time on weekends. Today I received the dog kennel panels that I'll be using for a 10x10x6 run and plan on getting about 6 chicks. They'll also be allowed to free range since the property is wire fenced perimeter, but only when I'm home to keep an eye on them because there is a stretch in the front that is panel and the driveway isn't gated. I'm retiring in 2 years and will adopt an Anatolian shepherd pup. If anything I've posted rings an alarm with any of you, please let me know! Otherwise I'll continue to muddle through this with the help of your posted information and probably jump in with questions from time to time. Oh BTW I'm planning on Austrolopes (sp?)
