Introduction: My wife and I have been retired for about 20 years. We have always had a dog in he house and decided about four years ago to expand our family to include chickens. We currently have 13 chickens and thoroughly enjoying every moment.

This experience has certainly enriched our lives and expanded our circle of friends. It has also been comforting to learn that there are resources beyond your local vet like BYC to consult when looking for ways other people have handled issues that arise or share the riches of having chickens in your life.
