Cute chicks! I have just started hatching again and have 52 developing. I'm excited to see what the spring pullets will produce. I passed out a bunch of eggs at the Iowa State Fair, but I haven't heard from anyone yet if they hatched.

our silver pullet from june hatch (she's very small tho) & a smokey pullet 5 weeks old to grow out :

If you are able to attend the Iowa City show, if your Silver pullet stays small. I would love to have her, or trade her. I am looking for a Silver runt for demos, and one that will fit in with my bantam single girls club!

here's a couple of our young boys (birchen + charcoal?) - will be interesting to see how they grow up & what their offspring produce next year (depending on what we use for hens too):

Yes, I would say both are Charcoal. Charcoal is the birchen gene with Dark Brown(Db) that makes the autosomal barring pattern. My "pure" birchens don't have the speckled pattern on their body, and are born black with yellow marks instead of a bark brown/chestnut color.

To those club members attending Mason City, Emily will be selling birds at the show and working the table. Kari and I will be there too. Originally I was coming over Saturday AM but have decided to come over Friday evening.
Kari, have you asked about a table? I have not but will call Bart just to cover all the bases. A whole bunch of new judges for this show so get your questions ready!
Hope to see many of us there, maybe we can have a meeting like last time.
David has picked out the birds he wants to show, I am still looking them over while they watch me build pens. Making a new brooder box next and putting some big wheels on the chicken tractor. My shoulder can't handle dragging it around.
