Good to meet you, fellow Iowan! Are you in the south, where there are pretty, rolling hills, or in the flat, windy north?
I have (too) many coops, and two are perfectly acceptable prefabs. Sometimes, you have to make a few modifications; I did that with my avatar coop to add some ventilation. I have a smaller A-frame prefab that safely housed a couple of bantams for several years.
If you are an Iowa native, you probably remember when folks threw chickens into any old shed, didn't worry about ventilation or roost height, and hardware cloth -- which I now consider an essential -- was nowhere to be found. Of course, the chickens my family raised didn't live as long or as well as my spoiled flocks!
Welcome to BYC, and please keep us posted on your chicken-raising adventures!
