I've checked countless lists of plants toxic to chickens and read many posts as well. I can't find a consistent answer for Iris's. One of my chickens thinks the bulbs are a delacacy! But one list said they're toxic, a couple of posts stated their chickens love their iris's. I'm confused. Should I didg them up of let her at 'em!

Oh that is just great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just planted like 50 some odd iris's in my flower bed in front of the chicken pen.....that is just great... They are all around my house and yard.....none of mine have died from them, are you sure that she is eating the bulbs, or the bugs in the roots? Mine just scratch the bulbs up, and then I replant them. Mine have been with iris's for 4 yrs....no problems here,,,I hope not for you!!!

All 3 dug up the Iris's, but one actually pecks and eats the bulbs. She seems to love them!

Maybe I'll just dig them up and replant them, too. But so far it's been 4 days and she hasn't gotten sick. And if you all have them and they're fine, then I'm sure mine will be, too. Good to know people have Iris's and chickens and no one's died!
