$25 is a lot for hens, i tend to sell egg laying young pullets for $15 and these are untouched girls never before touched by the wings of a rooster.

So this guy doesn't even know what he has? Nope. Waaaaay too much. $10 TOPS!sorry i just read the email he had chicks that he was not sure about the sex and he just said that hw had 9 orpington hens different colors he did not say the age
No, I don't think that is expensive for a hen. It is a lot of work raising chicks and you also have to buy a lot of stuff that you will only use for a month or so. I think I must have spent a few hundred dollars on their stuff and food already and I have only had them for about 7-8 weeks! I would buy stuff and not like it, so I'd buy something else. I went through so many different bulbs and didn't like having them in the house around the clock so then I spent more on an outdoor set up and of course then I had to buy more lights, etc...unless I was going to bring everything in and out of the house everyday! So to answer your question, 25.00 is cheap for a hen The only reason I chose day olds was I wanted them to bond to me and some of the breeds I chose were not super cheap either.i found some orpington hens for sale they are different colors. he is asking 25$ per hen is this a lot or is it a good price? i think i am going to buy 6 but i do not know if i am getting ripped off i really want them
