Is 25 days long enough??

For my hens to be with one roo to make sure there are breed by HIM.. They were with other roos before..

I'd say yes. There have been very rare instances of fertility by a certain rooster past 4 weeks, but usually 2-3 weeks is plenty.

I agree with Speckled Hen. I wait three weeks to make sure the sperm are no longer viable before I breed birds. I have corresponded with a chicken fertility specialist from the University of Arkansas and that was his advise to me.

Yup, me too. I always wait 3 weeks or 21 days (

) before I start collecting from a different mating. I haven't been surprised, so far.

Well today is day 25 and they are fertile!!!! Guess I'm going to start collecting for the bator! I'll shoot for a Jan. 8th or 9th hatch!!!! Leghorns are what I'm trying to breed!! I'll stick some barnyard mix in there too! Am SO excited!!!!! Thanks for the info!!
