Is $4 a good price for.....

Whatever your price I ditto the not holding the roosters for anyone. After selling as many animals as I have over the years, I have learned the hard way not to hold unless it is a repeat customer or a breeder that you deal with regularly. Tell him that you can't guarantee that they will all or any of them be there next week and that he must pay cash upon pick up. Cash only is the only way I do anything small animal. Horses is a cashiers check unless they have a pocket full! LOL

That price seems very reasonable. The other option is to just butcher them in another 3-4 weeks for the freezer. BOs have nice meat on them. Or sort out the better looking one and save them for a breeder...Miss Jayne is perfectly correct though...you need them gone, some guy will pay the equivalent of 8 bages of feed (at least here) I say JUMP!!

Well, I emailed this guy to make sure he was coming tomorrow to get them. He called while I was out today, then again this evening. He said he will be here at noon tomorrow. Ugggggghhhhh. I'm glad they will be gone, BUT it is a mixed feeling because these are my first chicks that I hatched out. I ended up with 17 cockerels and 11 pullets. I sold 2 of the pullets for $15 each.

I'm keeping the rest of them and one choice baby roo. We will see if he shows up tomorrow.

Sounds like a good plan! boys are good for breeding and meat and too many boys will ruin your hens... (i learned the hard way

He showed up and took all roosters (except the one I kept for breeding). He also wanted to buy 2 hens. I told him the hens were $15, he said that was too much and didn't want them. Fine with me because I need the pullets for eggs. Anyway, I feel sorry for his neighbors.
