If your chickens are dropping like flies in 95 degree weather, then I would be concerned about their health as a whole (obesity issues?) or you might want to check over again on how much shade and water supply you are making available for them. Chickens just don't fall over that easily, not in my experience as far as being around other people's chickens or when I was little and had chickens.

*EDIT* - But maybe it could be due to breed, as most of my experiences with chickens have been with the Shamo / Oriental Gamefowl type variety....... I believe they fare better in hot temperatures?

Might be a ventilation issue. I could see them dropping like that in a very stuffy environment.

Townchicks’ post is the only one that has minimal utility. First off, shit happens. Chickens have just up and died without evidence and all we can do is move on.

With that said they need:
1. Security
2. Water and nutrients (probiotics)
3. Food
4. Shade / exposure protection

After day 2 or 3 chickens can pretty much survive on their own with your support providing the healthy necessities listed above. Leave them outside. They’ll figure it out and like it, so will your partner.
