Is a Banty roo as loud as a standard roo?

My white leghorn roo never stops crowing especially when i am in the garden. He crows from sun up to sun set. i think he thinks i am competition for his hens. Sometimes i want to stick him in the pot. I am surprised the neighbours haven't complained yet.

The volume sounds pretty much the same to me, but the tone is shriller. As an example, think of the difference between a little boy's and a full grown man's voice; that's the difference between a bantam and a standard roo.

My standard and my bantam roo (a cochin) both crow in the mornings, but they don't crow until around 7 or 8 AM, and they aren't that close to the house. I can hear them both just as well though, so that's where I get my volume comparison from. I may be a bit odd though because I love to hear the roosters crowing in the mornings when I'm awake, but it doesn't usually wake me up if I'm sleeping.

I've heard that some bantam breeds don't crow that often, so that might be something to look into if you need a rooster that's not going to crow in the mornings. It's also been my experience that not all roosters crow at the same time of day, so possibly you could find one like ours, one that crows later in the morning after people are usually already out of bed.
