is a rooster worth $70?

Well, to me no Silkie is worth anything, LOL, but depends on the rooster, really. Hey, what would someone pay for my Suede??

Heck, I have about 6 banty silkie hens and roos that are white.
I have a baby that I would sell for 15 bucks, fully feathered and to a nice home. I do not want to put her in the barn. i am afraid she will be hurt by the big ol' roos I have. She has been in the nursery all her life. Good food and NO diseases.

Have seen some game rooster sell for 500.00.

Top show birds do sell for alot, depend how well they meet the standard.

Just like any show birds the better the bird the higher the price.

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it, whether or not your or I think it is worthy.

My thoughts exactly. If someone is willing to pay that much for one, then it is worth it to them. With as much as I have spent on eggs this winter, it would have done me better to pay $40-$50 a bird!​

I've heard of people giving as much as $3000 for a roo an my dad turned town $1500 for his head roo years ago. So I say yes, there worth what the market will allow.

I purchased one pair from $200 and another pair for $150. I've also sold some for 70 each and several for 50.

p.s. - one of the $100 birds won its class at the state fair.

I just paid $60 for a male and a female 4 month old Royal Palm Turkeys..I thought that was reasonable..
